Description of CE Program/Activity
 This training will focus on the importance of learning to use head-mounted devices such as the Patriot Viewpoint and the OrCam MyEye Pro to access visual information (text, faces, products, colors, and money notes), conveyed by audio. Participants will learn how to set up the devices, including Wi-Fi connection. Participants will learn about the accessibility settings to adjust the preferences to meet the needs of the Veterans. All participants will gain knowledge of the touch pad, buttons/ controls and voice commands of each device which is included in the training provided at the WPB BRC. This training will be a hands-on training on the use of the Patriot Viewpoint and OrCam My Eye Pro and their functional application when training our Veterans with a visual impairment.Objectives:1.Participants will understand the process and importance of adjusting the settings of each head-mounted device (HMD) to the individual needs of the Veteran. 2.Participants will understand how to connect the HMD to the Wi-Fi network. 3.Participants will be oriented to the touch bar/ pad and all the buttons/ controls of each device which is included in the training provided at the WPB BRC.4.Participants will understand the use and application of each device in order to access visual information (text, faces, products, colors, and money notes), conveyed by audio.5.Participants will understand the voice commands of each device which is included in the training provided at the WPB BRC.6.Participants will understand the use and application of the Smart Reading feature of the OrCam My Eye Pro. 7.Participants will have hands-on training on the use of the head-mounted devices and understand the functional applications of each device related to the Veteran s level of visual impairment.8.Participants will understand the difference between the two devices and the best candidate for each device.
