DESCRIPTION:BuddyBooks helps students with low vision and students with dyslexia: a computer and student take turns orally reading passages from any Bookshare book, as the AI tells the teacher, on a dashboard, where the student has problems. BuddyBooks its available now, and BuddyBooks for blind students using a braille display will be available in the spring.OBJECTIVES:1. At the end of this lesson, the learner will know 3 ways reading accountability can be measured during a student s independent reading practice.2. At the end of this lesson, the learner will understand the 2 methods that are used in AI-based reading remediation to improve fluency.3. At the end of this lesson, the learner will understand why buddy reading improves student engagement in reading, which leads to longer reading sessions every day. |
