Description of CE Program/Activity
 This training is designed to assist Orientation and Mobility instructors and Speech Language Therapists to enhance their communicate strategies with their transition-aged students who are DeafBlind and/or have complex learning profiles. This presentation describes basic techniques and applications of touch cues and haptic communication: Accessible locations for touch, pressure and hand placement Convey information about a person's surroundings, including changes that may be occurring Providing feedback between the educator and student to ensure the dyad is in sync Greeting techniques using touch Describing directions and physical layout of rooms and people in an individual s immediate surroundings
