Description of CE Program/Activity
 Introduction:This training will introduce the participants common ocular diseases that cause visual impairment. This training will focus on four types of ocular disease: ARMD, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Retinitis Pigmentosa. The participants will gain knowledge on each eye conditions, current information, and clinical practice. Also, the participants will learn about how prescriptions are written for glasses and their meanings. Cases will be used to demonstrate actual scenarios to demonstrate the translation from clinic information to functional vision assessment and low vision therapy. Goals:1.Participants will understand common ocular diseases that are seen in WPB Blind Rehab Center.2.Participants will understand the disease process, symptoms, and current clinical practice.3.Participants will understand glasses prescription in written forms and what it means.4.Participants will understand how to convert plus and minus cylinder form of prescription.5.Participants will understand the functional applications of the rehab process through case presentation.Objectives:1.Participants will be able to learn clinical and diagnostic findings of common ocular diseases 2.Participants will be able to understand the clinical course and expected outcomes for ARMD, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Retinitis Pigmentosa.3.Participants will learn the latest management strategies and preferred practice guidelines for each ocular condition.4.Participants will be able to understand and write glasses prescription.5.Participants will know the difference between plus and minus cylinder form.6.Participants will know the definition of hyperopia, myopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia.7.Participants will understand how patients go through a functional vision assessment and low vision therapy using case examples.
