Blind Rehabilitation Service strives to provide the best care to our Veteran who are visually impaired and coping with the effects of an acquired brain injury including, but not limited to, stroke or TBI. The needs of this population can be unique and diverse. Participants in this online presentation will learn strategies and tips for providing training to patients with cortical impairments. In addition, participants will learn specific topics to cover with Veteran in each area of blind rehabilitation. Learning Objectives:1.State two potential therapy goals/topic to cover in each skills area of blind rehabilitation (Living Skills, Manual Skills, Orientation and Mobility, Visual skills, and Assistive Technology).2.Describe use of visual cues used to aid scanning for Veterans with cortical impairments or hemianopsia. |
