Join us for a 4-week long mini-course on JAWS for TBVIs. We will explore how to identify computers that will run JAWS well, learn about Windows OS concepts that can support JAWS instruction, become more proficient with planning JAWS instruction, and share resources with each other. The course is asynchronous with optional weekly live Q&A sessions each Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00. The course runs for approximately 4 weeks, starting July 5th and ending July 29th. All assignments for the course must be submitted by 7/31 to receive credit. Week 1: Windows OS and Why We CareWeek 2: JAWS Basics: Combining Windows and a Screen ReaderWeek 3: Building on the Basics - Internet NavigationWeek 4: Planning and Implementing JAWS Instruction Objectives:Participants will be able to procure and set up JAWS on appropriate Windows devices.Participants will be able to create lesson plans and units for instruction using JAWS commands and Windows OS concepts.Participants will be able to develop measurable and appropriate IEP JAWS/Windows OS goals for students. |
