Outdoor adventure has shown to be very beneficial for youth with visual impairments. Through outdoor adventure programming students can also acquire all components of the ECC. The programming must be modified to ensure proper skill acquisition, safety, socialization, and communication. Come to this workshop and learn how to include all childrenLesson Plan Goal: The purpose of this talk is to inform the audience on the benefits of outdoor adventure programs for youth with visual impairments. To teach them about the components of the ECC that are met through involvement in outdoor adventure. Also, to discuss modifications to ensure inclusion, success, and safety in the outdoor adventure programming. Lastly, provide a variety of resources including books, articles, web sites, and videos that promote outdoor adventure for youth with VI.Learning Objectives: -Identify the importance outdoor adventure programs.-Demonstrate the knowledge of how ECC components are met through outdoor adventure programming. -State a variety of modifications to outdoor programming to ensure success, inclusion, and safety.-State how to access resources to educate others in outdoor adventure programming. |
