Traditionally, blind and visually impaired youth don't have the same opportunities as their sighted peers to participate in sports or physical education in school. From school liability to medical notes, there are a number of roadblocks that might prevent them from enjoying a session designed for their health and well-being. The presenters have experience in working with youth (and adults) on adaptive fitness and sports experiences that allow them to safely work on their health goals. This session will introduce a variety of sports and fitness activities (including Paralympic sports) and ways that our youth can safely get involved. |
