This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how to teach a variety of expanded core curriculum skills in one day. Participants will come with their students and will be given lesson plans that align with TEKS and focus on building skills in self-advocacy, social skills, recreation leisure, O&M, independent living skills, use of low vision devices, and career awareness. We will show how to accommodate these lessons for students with complex needs. This event will occur on Boy Scouts camp grounds and will feature lessons on archery, team building, s'more making, obstacle courses, treasure hunting and nature exploration. Participants will provide their students with the support they need to be successful in these training opportunities. |
