Description of CE Program/Activity
 Developing and implementing high quality programming for Veteran s with a visual impairment is based on a comprehensive evaluation/assessment. Conducting a comprehensive evaluation/assessment will provide critical information prior to beginning instruction. Establishing criteria for appropriateness is important to have successful outcomes for each participant. As part of the evaluation/assessment information gathering is important based on the needs/goals that a Veteran has prior to participating in a virtual or inpatient program. Having a pre-assessment performed by a Blind Rehabilitation Outpatient Specialist will enhance the information obtained as part of the assessment/evaluation process. This information is gathered and utilized as part of the assessment conducted by the Blind Rehabilitation Center virtually or as an inpatient by an Blind Rehab specialist once the Veteran is admitted for this specialized training.This workshop will provide an overview of the Apple Watch program offered and provided at the West Palm Beach Blind Rehabilitation Center Virtual or inpatient Apple Watch program to Veterans with a visual impairment. This training will provide participants with an understanding of the program delivery based on the Veteran s goals/needs and abilities to learn this cutting-edge technology. This session will provide information about the screening/pre-assessment process and program sequence training program available at the WPB Blind Rehab Center.
