Description of CE Program/Activity
 Description: To discuss concerns participants have about falls and linkages between vision loss, fear of falling, decreased muscle strength and balance, and social isolation. Presenters will provide an overview of fall prevention programs with detail about the Matter of Balance program, including its adaptation for people with low vision. Instructor: Christy Ann Lau, MSSW Instructor s Title: Senior Director, Community Wellness Instructor s Affiliation: Partners in Care Foundation Instructor: Kirsten Dorsey, OTR/L Instructor s Title: Program Manager, A Matter of Balance Instructor s Affiliation: Maine Health Instructor: Melissa Donegan, LSW Instructor s Title: Assistant Director Instructor s Affiliation: Healthy Living Center of Excellence, Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley and North Shore Primary Core or ECC Area: Target Audience: professionals, consumers, family members Pre-requisite knowledge: Lesson Plan Goal: Increase participants knowledge of existing fall prevention programs, particularly about the Matter of Balance Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to name three fall prevention programs and their purpose. Participants will be able to discuss at least three adaptations made to the Matter of Balance translation program for people with low vision.
