The hard truth is, one of the first things a sighted employer, or a prospective romantic partner will notice is the physical appearance of someone they meet. Although it doesnt say everything, appearance is the first shot at making a good impression and overcoming common stereotypes about blind and visually impaired people. Thats why grooming plays an important role. In Grooming for Success, we will assess the level of knowledge you have about personal appearance and ask each what you wish to work on in regards to personal grooming. In addition, well discuss clothing, hair styles, nail care, posture, body language, make-up, hygiene, voice tone, and above all, confidence. All are welcome, please call 1800-BRAILLE (272-4553) with any questions. Join Nicole Bissett of Bissett Productions, hosted online by Braille Institute San Diego. Registration will close October 8. |
