Description of CE Program/Activity
This session focuses on a single case research design, specifically multiple probe design across word sets, to teach reading sight words to students who have impairments in both vision and hearing. Results demonstrated a dramatic and immediate increase in correctly reading sight words. Specific procedures, as well as social validity data, will be provided. Learning Objectives: Participants will demonstrate an understanding of:(1) the need for experimental intervention research to inform instruction of students with impairments in both vision and hearing;(2) the components of constant time delay for teaching reading sight words to students with impairments in both vision and hearing; and (3) how the results of the current study contribute to and expand the limited existing research base that currently informs instructional practices for students who have impairments in both vision and hearing.
