 Description: Whether your summer plans include a vacation to a favorite destination or a staycation in your town, it s time to get navigating with tactile maps! Hear from Greg Kehret, Director of Media and Accessible Design Laboratory at San Francisco s LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired, as he introduces TMAP, a tool to generate tactile maps. Experts from APH will share how to use the PixBlaster to print TMAPS and will also explore ways to create and embellish tactile graphics using low-tech products. Learning Objectives: The participant will describe how to use the TMAP app to create tactile street maps. The participant will describe how to use the PixBlaster to print TMAPs and other tactile graphics. The participant will identify 3 APH tools to improve student proficiency in using tactile maps. The participant will list 3 ways to augment and embellish tactile graphics. Materials Needed: None
