We are going to talk about, and learn how to use Fusion (on a basic level). Fusion is an AT (assistive technology) software which combines ZoomText (a screen magnifier), and JAWS (a screen reader). This allows someone with low-to-no vision to be able to access a computer and information independently.Objectives/outcomes:1) For participants to understand what Fusion is, to a point where they can tell someone about it.2) For participants to learn how to operate the software on a basic level. This will include opening it, and doing different key commands.Kevin is an IT Support Technician at Foundation for Blind Children. He is knowledgeable on a variety of Assistive Technology products, ranging from magnifiers, portable CCTVs, assistive software (such as Fusion), Braille Displays, and more. Kevin has taught a summer class on Fusion to a group of college bound students, as well as adults in various group trainings, and one-on-one settings. While Kevins main focus is supporting the technology of FBCs students and Employees, he always enjoys teaching eager learners about Assistive Technology! |
