Description of CE Program/Activity
 Friends of TVI and O&M at San Francisco State University, in partnership with the Northern Chapter of the California Association of Orientation and Mobility Specialists (N-CAOMS) is pleased to announce our Spring 2021 Webinar. We have two wonderful speakers. A brief description of each presentation is below and the attached flyer provides more detailed information. Part 1: Whole Child, Asset-Based Approaches for Teaching, by Monique Coleman, M.A., TVIDeveloping Whole Child, Asset-Based Approaches for Teaching Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Blind and Visually Impaired Students; core knowledge and strategies that can be used to support culturally and linguistically diverse students and families.Part 2: Risk Assessment, Safety Supervision, and Liability, by William Koehler, M.Ed.; TVI, COMSTenets of risk assessment (including a Risk Assessment Matrix), safety supervision, and how the scope of practice affects potential liability for the O&M specialist. Ramifications for the O&M Specialist and the use of untested technology and devices will be discussed.
