Description of CE Program/Activity
Training Session Topics: Session 1Assessing your valuesCreating a sex-positive environment for youth and young adultsGender, sex, and sexual identity: terminology and concepts Session 2Understanding risk-reduction and preventionWorking with familiesConsent Session 3Anatomy and body awarenessSexual health (community resources, supports, protection) Session 4Privacy and keeping topics personal Session 5Relationship skills and dating (bringing it all together) There are no mandatory assignments for the training but Emily has made some suggestions to help you get the most out of the sessions and provide the best possible support to the young people you work with. Here they are: 1. Prior to June 7th, registered participates will receive a situation (case study) that can be used for discussion and problem solving during the sessions.2. Create a list of community resources that can provide information and services related to sexual health/well-being, contraception, and sexual assault. If possible, explore the resources to evaluate accessibility and their ability to support young people with vision loss. Consider reaching out to community partners who might need your assistance to adapt their teaching tools, material, and programs/services for the population we serve.
