Purposeful communication is a key element of effective management in any organization. When it occurs as part of an intentional plan, communication can have a powerful impact on a manager's ability to convey information, to collect information and to use that information to build strategic relationships within and outside of the organization.During this 60-minute session, speakers will briefly present two different management structures - one from a private, not-for-profit agency which provides primarily campus-based services for adults, and the other from a state agency division whose services focus on itinerant programs for children. Their perspectives differ and their methods vary but their goals are much the same - to support and supervise their staffs, to enhance the provision of quality services, and to improve client outcomes. Each will discuss the tools and strategies which they have used to strengthen their internal and external communications and how the lessons learned from managing during Covid-19 may have a lasting impact on their communication protocols. |
