Maps are used in gen ed classrooms to help students comprehend, analyze and organize information. How are your students accessing online gen ed classroom maps, such as state capitals map, Civil War battlefields map, or the 13 Colonies map? 21st century classrooms are using digital materials and tools, which transfers to tools and skills used in college, careers and life. In this course, TVIs will be introduced to non-visual digital maps including how to use and teach these maps to students with VIB, how to create non-visual digital maps, and about map-related lessons available in the Map Library on the Paths to Technology website. We will be accessing these non-visual digital maps using the SAS Graphics Accelerator, a free Google Extension. ObjectivesParticipants will:Learn how students glean information from non-visual digital maps using headphones and a computer keyboard.Learn how to create custom non-visual digital maps for gen ed classroom activities.Learn about available map-related lessons on the Paths to Technology website. |
