Description of CE Program/Activity
The Unity Virtual Academy is being done to replace the annual in person Unity conference which is held annually at TN School for the Blind for Vision Educators and O&M instructors annually. This year we will do a series of shorter trainings which will cumulatively be added together in order for professionals to obtain ACVREP training. Each session will have an opening and Closing code in order to preserve the integratity of the session attendance. More trainings opportunities will be added each quarter and we will upload those trainings as we get them confirmed. We have already secured national level trainers from APH, and the Center for Assistive Technology Training (CATT) which will begin in February and will consist of a series of trainings for an educational team consisting of a TVI, Regular or Special Education Teacher, and a family member. Each team will receive a free Sensory Learning Kit who conpletes to training to use with the student associated with the team. We are also working with Freedom Scientific to provide trainings on the Mantus Q40 and the Chameleon 20. These will be offered next quarter. We will upload new registration materials for these along with course discriptions for these upcoming trainings soon. Some trainings will be offered more than once, but credit will only be given for one attendance at that training. The trainings will be recorded and also offered in a monitored setting for participants that are not able to attend the live session. These will be scheduled so attendance can be monitored and confirmed by a facilitator.
