This session is designed for the Teacher of the Visually Impaired, and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist who have only been in the field of vision services for three years or less. Participants will explore best practice for vision professional when delivering services to students with a visual impairment. Session 101 will provide an overview for vision professionals including the Legal Framework, referral, evaluation, and eligibility.Participants will explore best practice for vision professional when delivering services to students with a visual impairment. Session 201 will explore ECC assessment, VISSIT, IEP/PLAAFPs, and infant instruction. Participants will explore best practice for vision professional when delivering services to students with a visual impairment. Session 301 will provide an overview for professionals addressing functional braille, active learning strategies, and assistive technology. * Due to COVID-19, the New Teacher series will be offered in a virtual format |
