 Course DescriptionThe aim of The LEGO Foundation is to re-define play and re-imagine learning - but what does this mean exactly? What is learning through play and why is play so special? What holistic skills do children develop when they play? This course allows participants to investigate these principles and explore ways to best facilitate learning through play using the LEGO Braille Bricks.Objectives Describe 5 holistic skills that children develop during play which are critical to learning.Identify the 5 characteristics of playful learning: Joyful, Actively engaging, Meaningful, Iterative, and Socially Interactive.Explore how academic and visual impairment-related curriculum skills are developed when playing with LEGO Braille Bricks.Discuss how braille and tactile skills are be practiced during playful learning experiences using the LEGO Braille Bricks.
