Description of CE Program/Activity
 Gene therapy and genetic testing are quickly becoming the new mainstays of care in the eye field. This presentation will begin with understanding how gene therapy works followed by a review of the current clinical trials available for patients with inherited retinal diseases. The panel will end its discussion with a conversation on how genetic testing is being incorporated into their clinic along with their results and case examples. 1. Identify that DNA testing has become the standard of care in diagnosing individuals with inherited retinal conditions. 2. Characterize the current clinical trials available for inherited retinal diseases. 3. Define how gene therapy works in the retina. 4. Describe how genetic testing is incorporated in a clinical setting.
