Description of CE Program/Activity
In order to make lessons meaningful and fun for all involved instructors are required to first meet the needs of the learner. In a framework I call meet me where I am I will describe the role the educator plays in making lessons engaging while balancing the needs of the learner and the objectives of the instructor. Real life examples will be shared as well as strategies to help educators be successful with their most challenging students.Outcomes:1.Outline the responsibilities held by the educator in ensuring that lessons are meaningful and engaging 2.Learn to identify where a student is in their readiness to learn so that instruction can be meaningful in that moment 3.Strategies for making the most out of the time available with students so that everyone walks away happy! Katie completed both her Bachelors and Masters degrees at Florida State University in Visual Disabilities with a focus on early childhood. She is a Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Orientation and Mobility Specialist and currently working on her Doctorate in Visual Impairment.
