Description of CE Program/Activity
This webinar explores the impact of the visual behaviors of CVI on the development of independent living and self-care skills. It will offer concrete, realistic strategies that can be implemented in a home or residential context to support skill development and further students independence. A general background on CVI will be included, as well as a discussion of the impact of CVI on the development of independent living skills. The visual behaviors associated with CVI will be explored, as well as means of facilitating skill development using the visual behaviors in a supportive manner. Considerations will be given for the home/residential context, including strategies for adaptations in various functional settings (meals, bathing, dressing, etc.) founded in principles of occupational therapy.
