Combining either the Mantis Q40 or the Chameleon 20 with books from Bookshare equates to a portable book fair in your students backpack. Join APH and Bookshare to learn more about how these solutions can have a significant impact on student literacy. Participants will learn how to download and access electronic books on the Mantis Q40 and the Chameleon 20. They will learn about advanced search strategies in Bookshare, requesting titles to be added to the Bookshare collection, and choosing the correct file formats for the devices their students are using. Learn more about this modern-day accessible book fair for your students. Participants will identify at least three ways students with visual impairments develop literacy skills. Participants will identify four outcomes of using electronic books with students who read braille. Participants will compare and contrast four ways to access electronic books on the Mantis Q40 and the Chameleon 20. Participants will identify four commands used to navigate a book on the Mantis Q40 and Chameleon 20. Participants will name four benefits of refreshable braille and touch cursors when reading electronic books. Participants will list at least three strategies for searching for books using Bookshare. Participant will explain the process of requesting a new title for the Bookshare collection. |
