Instructor: Donna McNearLet's get excited, motivated, challenged, and involved to make a difference for our students by examining and reflecting on moving forward differently when students with visual impairments are provided essential services from paraprofessionals. When paraprofessionals are frequently the educational staff with the most time with students, let s critically examine effective ways of working together to get the intended results for students. This session will examine what we know about paraprofessional supports, what it takes to implement effective supports, and how we can consider alternate methods to increase student outcomes and achieve results aligned with our hopes and goals for our students. In an interactive format, we will explore, consider, and create ideas and strategies around topics, such as myths, expectations, mutuality, systematic methods, training, ongoing guidance, and management. Tools will be shared to get started and launch the new school year with doable strategies. |
