Description of CE Program/Activity
 Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your values. Your values become your destiny! In this discussion we will explore the four ways in which confidence can be fostered leading to higher outcomes in schoolwork and life. Outcomes:1)Participants will identify how increased confidence leads to increased efficacy in using alternative skills in school and work.2)Participants will identify ways to integrate social influencers leading to increased confidence and success.3)Participants will identify ways to integrate positive philosophy of blindness leading to increased confidence and success.4)Participants will identify strategies to utilize problem solving experiences for growing confidence in students leading to higher levels of success. Amy Porterfield is the Chief Operations Officer at Saavi Services for the Blind where she oversees three comprehensive blindness rehabilitation training centers throughout the state of Arizona. Amy additionally contracts with the Institute of Education and Leadership YTAC program where she provides professional development to Vocational Rehabilitation Programs around the country in the area of Blindness rehabilitation. In this capacity she draws from her twenty-five years experience serving in the field of blindness where she has served as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, provided individual and group adjustment counseling, taught independent living skills, access technology as well as job readiness and placement services. Mrs. Porterfield previously served as the Assistant Manager for Arizona Rehabilitation services Administration, Services for the Blind, visually impaired, and Deaf. In this capacity, she developed monitored and overviewed vocational and independent living services for blind Arizonans both with internal rehabilitation staff and with community resource providers.
