Description of CE Program/Activity
Participants in this webinar will: Recognize the importance of early intervention in their work with children who are blind or have low vision to facilitate career awareness. Understand how teachers, mobility specialists, rehabilitation counselors, and other service providers can structure activities and content development to reinforce the career exploration efforts of students with visual disabilities. Learn how to teach children and youth with visual disabilities job seeking skills and apply those skills to help them secure early work-related experiences. Develop techniques to support the development of self-advocacy and self-determination in students with visual disabilities. Access information available through research that identifies current employment statistics relevant to Arizona and the United States specific to individuals with visual impairments.
