There is not a place you can go, in this day and age, that you dont see somebody aged 2 and counting using some form of technology. Typically, this is seen as an app. on an iPad or a cell phone, but this may be to high for students with multiple disabilities. Apps can be used, but sometimes finding ones that are both age and developmentally appropriate can be a challenge. Toys can also be included in the area of technology but toys that are age appropriate may not meet the student where they are developmentally, so adaptations may need to be made. Depending on the form of communication low tech. or high tech. can be observed. This presentation will look at the use of technology with students that have multiple disabilities.Objectives1. Participants will be able to take away ways to incorporate technology with their students that have multiple disabilities.2. Participants will be able to determine appropriate apps. for the iPad.3. Participants will be able to adapt toys/other items through the use of technology4.
