This session is designed for braille transcribers teachers and other educators. It will focus on how to transcribe the Navajo braille code. A simple transcription handbook will be presented, covering basic structure of transcription, such as punctuation and use of numbers. The examples from the handbook along with some exercises Will be shown and completed together using Duxbury while projected on the screen with the laptop. Questions will be addressed by participants on specific issues and concerns related to transcribing the Navajo braille code. The goal of this session is for participants to learn how to transcribe Navajo language materials into braille for those they serve. The feedback provided by participants will be useful in the continual development of the Navajo Braille code. |
