Description of CE Program/Activity
Spring Procedures for Teachers of the Visually Impaired and Certified Orientation and Mobility InstructorsA Focus on TransitionDescription: This Professional Learning Opportunity will provide specific guidance to Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments regarding how to Write a Transition IEP that is Compliant with Indicator 13. Strategies for obtaining the necessary information will be provided including the use of assessments specific to students with visual impairment or blindness which assess areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum. Lastly, information about the Successful Transitions program for students who are blind or visually impaired will also be included. Objective #1-Participants will be able to develop an appropriate transition IEP that is compliant with Indicator 13 of the State Performance Plan.Objective #2- Participants will identify at least two assessments specifically designed for use with students who are blind or visually impaired and gain an understanding of how to use them.
