This two-part series on weaving instruction for working with people with visual disabilities, will enhance teaching techniques needed to introduce students to working on a loom. This will be an interactive workshop covering, how to include low vision aids or tactile techniques for visually impaired students in your instruction, actual steps needed to prep the loom, as well as weaving techniques. Sessions:1)Weaving Techniques for People with Visual Disability- Part 12)Weaving Techniques for People with Visual Disability- Part 2 Time will be available for questions and discussion. Learning Objectives:At the conclusion of this CE activity the participant will be able to: Staff will observe, then demonstrate sleying warp through reeds. Staff will be able to utilize a pattern to set up the loom. Staff will demonstrate ability to thread heddles according to a pattern. Staff will demonstrate ability to treadles, shuttle & beater to create a woven patter Staff will be able to teach techniques to visually impaired adultsTarget Audience: Clinical staff providing care to Veterans with visual impairment and blindness.
