Join fellow orientation and mobility specialists for this hands-on training that will explore emerging technology in our field. Ride-share, Aira, Seeing AI, and Clew are powerful independence tools for individuals with visual impairments and will be introduced as new methods to access and navigate the community. The morning portion of this training will explore each application and include hands-on trials. The middle portion of training will include a ride-share trip to a specific location where participants will engage in a scavenger hunt, using the various apps, and then have lunch. After returning to Bucks IU for the afternoon, participants will engage in a facilitated discussion about their experiences (e.g., pros/cons, considerations). The day will culminate with participants planning how to implement these technologies into lessons. |
