Description of CE Program/Activity
It is clear that the most commonly provided communication devices for blind/visually impaired veterans are iOS devices due to their accessibility features. Although the Apple products have many great accessibility features, the devices can be expensive and are difficult to learn for some. This is especially true for those who are already familiar with Android devices. Synapptic software for Android is designed to provide a simplified menu system for Android devices which allows the user to effectively navigate their device via gestures and/or via voice. The Synapptic software is a great alternative to iOS devices and includes many other functions that may benefit blind/visually impaired individuals. Learning Objectives:At the conclusion of this CE activity the participant will be able to:1.Understand the overall layout of the software program.2.Identify each function of the program and how it may be able to benefit your clients.3.Effectively navigate the software program via gestures and via voice commands.4.Provide an alternative communication device for clients.
