CARF International is a private, nonprofit organization that is financed by fees from accreditation surveys, workshops, and conferences; sales of publications; and grants from public entities. The mission of CARF is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process and continuous improvement services that center on enhancing the lives of the persons served. The purpose of CARF is to recognize organizations that achieve accreditation through a consultative peer-review process and demonstrate their commitment to the continuous improvement of their programs and services with a focus on the needs and outcomes of the persons served. The intent is to introduce staff to the different CARF sections and to provide a simple explanation on each of the Section 2, Quality Individualized Services and Supports, A & B standards.
