Description of CE Program/Activity
This course includes a series of case reports that feature patients who have had treatments that involved a spectacle mounted assistive device. Regular and specialty glasses, including telescopes and selective absorption filters play a role in the design of the devices. Evidence based justifications and reasons why some strategies are effective will be discussed. 1. Explain why a refraction is an essential element of the low vision evaluation. 2. List three uses of a spectacle mounted telescope. 3. Describe the kinds of selective absorption filters used in patients with cone dystrophy.
