Description of CE Program/Activity
Travelers that is, those in high school or their early 20s need to develop a complex set of skills to manage travel. This workshop will focus on exploring the wide array of skills needed by travelers such as using technology during travel, bicycling with low vision, safety during travel, and using rideshare services.Throughout the workshop we will explore Finding Wheels, a book which has been heavily revised by Drs. Anne Corn and L. Penny Rosenblum since its original publication in 2000. Attendees will examine the contents of the chapters of Finding Wheels, which includes five scenarios of travelers, short vignettes, and activities travelers can complete to explore topics in the book and increase their skills. Videos of travelers using Finding Wheels will be shared. The use of small group activities throughout the session will give attendees an opportunity to explore topics discussed.
