Description of CE Program/Activity
The Addition of Apple iMac desktop and MacBook laptop computers to our Computer Assistive Technology Training Program has excited practitioners and Veteran s Alike. Due to many of our Veterans having completed the iOS assistive technology program, there are those who have gotten the impression, based on the perceived similarities between iOS(iPhone/iPad operating system) and OS(the Mac operating system) and their perception that the OS operating system communicates better with iOS APPS, that a Mac computer would be a better fit for iOS accessibility users. The fact of the matter still remains, the appropriate software and equipment for a Veteran should not be determined until a full Assistive Technology assessment has been completed. Part Two of this discussion will focus on similarities and differences between Operating systems and Assistive technology software programs available on the Windows and Apple computer platforms.
