Description of CE Program/Activity
This tutorial explains the importance of pairing sensory activities and communication skills for more effective learning for children with visual and multiple disabilities. It also covers strategies to infuse these sensory experiences directly with communication and literacy development as well as discuss ideas for effective team implementation. Sensory activities are commonly used to help children with visual and multiple disabilities to use all of their available senses to process environmental information and develop compensatory skills. Sensory activities can also be used to strengthen skill building in other critical areas, such as communication and literacy.
