Monika Jones, of the Brain Recovery Project, shares information presented at the 2018 AER International Conference, regarding brain surgeries which remove or disconnect one occipital lobe, increasingly being used to stop drug-resistant seizures in children.This session will provide an overview of these surgeries, address how their resulting vision implications impact a child in school and suggest instruction methods, accommodations, modifications, and compensatory mechanisms to help these children succeed in school.
