Description of CE Program/Activity
A all day workshop dedicated to helping people who are blind and visually impaired (all all ages) develop resilience through learning how to master one's finances and navigate difficult sittuations by keeping a positive attitude. Our keynote will be a woman who overcame challenges to pass the bar and practice law in Vermont with a visual impairment. The Vermont Deaprtment of Treasury in partnership with VABVI explain the ABLE accounts and how they can help assist Vermonters with vision loss to save and ensure future stability. Daniel Norris (CVRT) explores technology and the ability for persons with vision loss to access their financial information today and what tools they might draw upon. A panel of Vermonters with vision loss from college to adult life share their own personal experiencs overcoming trials and challenges. Then a deeper look into stragetigies to cope with challenges and bounce back stronger are discussed in small groups and shared with all participating.
