Description of CE Program/Activity
Developing and implementing high quality programming for Veteran s with a visual impairment is based on a comprehensive evaluation/assessment. Conducting a comprehensive evaluation/assessment will provide critical information prior to beginning instruction. Establishing criteria for appropriateness is important to have successful outcomes for each participant. As part of the evaluation/assessment information gathering is important based on the needs/goals that a Veteran has prior to attending the BRC. Having a pre-assessment performed by a Blind Rehabilitation Outpatient Specialist will enhance the information obtained as part of the assessment/evaluation process. This information is gathered and utilized as part of the evaluation/assessment conducted at the Blind Rehabilitation Center by a computer access technology specialist once the Veteran is admitted for this specialized training. In this presentation you will review what information is necessary to implement a successful IOS program for Veterans with Visual Impairments.
