CNIB has been hosting its braille conference for more than 40 years. The first conference was a half-day event for Toronto braille volunteers that discussed braille best practice and has grown over the years to be a gathering of people from the vision loss, technology and braille communities covering braille advancements, education and teaching tools. This year's conference, entitled "Braille & Technology: Changing Perceptions", will be taking place on October 18 and 19, 2018 at The Ontario Science Centre. The Conference will offer a variety of workshops, roundtables, panels and presentations that are interactive, practical, skill-based, research-based and theoretical. Themes being covered at this year's event include interactive literacy, employment, accessible technology, vision loss rehabilitation and peer support. |
