Course Description: The training content is designed to detail and discuss instructional strategies to support the use of the Communication Matrix. The Communication Matrix (1990, 1996, 2004) by Dr. Charity Rowland is an assessment tool designed to determine the communication level of learners with severe and multiple disabilities, including deaf-blindness. The training will detail the 7-level model of expressive communication as outlined in the Communication Matrix and will include instruction, practical exercises and the use of case studies to demonstrate the assessment and instructional strategies being described. |
