Workshop DescriptionThis two-day workshop will review current needs and technologies for delivering accessible educational materials to students with visual impairments. Topics will emphasize how to support multimedia in the modern classroom, including how to: Implement digital workflows; Remediate text, images, video, and data content for accessibility; Create school-based support for VI students; and Connect with communities of practice to keep up with technology options as they evolve. The workshop will focus on the creation of accessible digital multimedia and provide hands-on practice with available tools and program applications. Objectives1.Participants will learn how to set up a cloud-based file-sharing system for students to exchange materials with classroom teachers.2.Participants will learn how to format text and data, and describe images and videos for nonvisual or low vision access.3.Participants will learn how to design and implement digital workflows as supported by IEP goals and school-based teams. |
