Children who have CVI, or other forms of brain damage related vision loss, have unique visual and learning needs. They require specialized educational strategies and often, environmental adaptations. Diane Sheline will be here to talk about identification of children with CVI, assessment tools to use, and simple techniques and strategies to use with children who have a diagnosis of Cerebral/Cortical Visual Impairment. Overall strategies will be discussed as well as how to adapt the environment and modify the presentation of materials, toys, and other learning items. A service delivery model will be discussed along with ideas for writing appropriate IEP Goals and Objectives. Diane will discuss "CVI Friendly" ideas to keep in mind when working on literacy as well as suggestions on developing your own literacy materials and how to adapt ready made books. Join us at this training and increase your knowledge about CVI. Learn all about strategies which will encourage your students to use their vision more consistently and efficiently on a daily basis. This training will include the opportunity to "make and take" educational and assessment tools. |
