Professionals in vision and other fields can earn continuing education credits and professional development hours at the 60th annual American Council of the Blind Conference and Convention, to be held from July 16 to July 23. This is a virtual convention, with all programs, workshops and presentations available via the Zoom platform and/or ACB Radio. CEC's and PD hours are available for a wide range of programs, workshops, seminars, and other events presented by ACB and its committees, special-interest affiliates, and representatives of government agencies and private industry. Subjects will include employment, technology, health issues, orientation and mobility, self-advocacy, braille, low vision issues, daily living skills, social skills and much more. Programs offering CE and PD credits will begin on Friday, July 16 and continue through Friday, July 23. Purchase CE and PD credits when you pre-register for the convention. You may also register for CE credits at the convention. Be sure to collect the beginning and ending codes given at each of the CE/PD sessions for which you wish credit. Following the convention, you are responsible for submitting your reports and evaluations, including your codes, to ACB by August 31, 2021. ACB will then issue your CE certificate showing the number of credits earned with ACB. You are then responsible for submitting your certificate to ACVREP for your CE's, or to your employer for your PD hours. Note: You should check with your employer in advance to make them aware of this opportunity if you are seeking approved leave or reimbursement of fees. For more information, contact Carla Ruschival, CE Chair, by phone at (877) 630-7190 or by email at continuingeducation@acb.org. |
