VisionServe Alliance presents its 29th Annual Executive Leadership Conference Nov. 5 - 8. We propose two full days of the conference (Nov. 6 & 7) be approved for a total of 10.25 hours of CE. The agenda (see attached) will have two strong keynotes and two learning tracks providing important presentations on the following ACVREP Continuing Education (CE) content categories: Professionalism in Vision Rehabilitation and Education; Professional Information; Program Development, Administration, and Supervision; Communication, Team-Building, and Consumerism.Examples of Sessions from the Agenda:1.5 hrs: Building a Cyber Resilient Organization (To Protect Client Information)1 hr: Cyber Security and Vulnerable Populations1.5 hrs: Are You Running Your Business or Is It Running You? (New methodology for managing programs.)1.5: Conducting a Community Needs Assessment1.5 hrs: Facilitated Discussion Tables on the following topics: WIOA, Optimizing OTs, Managing Itinerant Staff, CATIS certification, 21st Century on Aging and Vision Loss; How to Build a Blind Hockey Team, and Living Well With Low Vision web-site. 1 hr: Communicate Like a Leader1.25 hrs: Leadership Lessons Learned at the Paralympics1.25 hrs: New Blind/Visual Impairment Technologies presented by Humanware, VFO, OrCam, Aira, and Bookshare. Also, new genetic testing for RP from Spark Therapeutics, and Non-24 from Vanda Pharmaceuticals.1.25 hrs: Facilitated Discussion: developing quality programs and services TOTAL = 10.25 HRS |
