Description of CE Program/Activity
 This event will cover the following topics: Overview of PAT program, DVR, and the Helen Keller National Center (increase knowledge of available services), Etiology of Deaf-Blindness- Visual Aspects (increase knowledge of causes of deaf-blindness and how it impacts an individual's life), Etiology of Deaf-Blindness- Audiological Aspects (increase knowledge of the causes of deaf-blindness and how it impacts an individual's life), Communication Methods/Use of Interpreters (increase knowledge of various communication systems, learn basic signs, where to find qualified interpreters), Efforts with Youth who are Deaf-Blind (WIOA Project), What are Support Service Providers and How do They Work with Individuals who are Deaf-Blind (increase knowledge of what support service providers do, who they are, how they are different from sign language interpreters, how to coordinate services), Orientation and Mobility for Individuals who are Deaf-Blind (increase knowledge of techniques taught to individuals who are deaf-blind in order to safely navigate the home, school, and/or work communities), Panel of Individuals who are Deaf-Blind (become acquainted with individuals who are deaf-blind, gain better understanding of vocational possibilities, and observe a variety of communication methods employed by these individuals) , and Technology for Individuals who are Deaf-Blind (hands-on training to increase knowledge of the types of technology available for individuals in the workplace, school, and at home).
